Step Ten - Boxed Arrangement

Last night saw my tenth flower class at Perrotts School of Floristry!

A Boxed Arrangement was the task and yellow was the colour palette with lots of gorgeous lillies, snapdragons, spray roses and nerines.

Happy Thursday.....

Determination was the key.....

And probably a very patient teacher....

A sleeping baby gave me a couple of quiet hours on Monday afternoon to sit down with Mum and learn the art of Crochet. Lucky my Mum is very, very patient! After lots of..... it just doesn't feel natural holding it that way...... and a couple of I hate it when I can't do things perfect the first time! I GOT IT! So how happy am I!!! Here is a little photo just for proof!



Ok so I won't be crocheting any little doilies for the stores anytime soon, those little puppies will continue to be made with lots of love by Mum (oh did I mention I have lots of new colours coming soon?). For now I will stick with lots of rows back and forward, might even make myself a little rug for snuggling on the couch!!

Looking forward to our next Brisbane Brown Owls catch up so that I can proudly say I can now crochet!!!

Step Nine - Ladies Corsage

I have been a bit slack with the blog posts this week! No reason just laziness I guess!!!

I can't believe that I am half way through my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. A Ladies Corsage was the task for the night. Again a lot of wiring!

My First Brisbane Brown Owls Experience

I had a lovely time this morning attempting - I say that very loosely - to crochet! I am going to need a few more tutorials before I am crocheting beanies, doilies, blankets and maybe even these cute little stool covers...

Step Eight - Buttonholes.....

So last night's class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrott's School of Floristry was a lesson in Buttonholes. Funnily enough I found the monotonous task of wiring every single flower, leaf and berry quite therapeutic!

I now have a lot more respect for the buttonhole!

Brisbane Brown Owls!

I am very excited to now be a member of the Brisbane Brown Owls.

The Brisbane Brown Owls is a group of crafty ladies who meet once a month to learn a new craft! Some of the things on the list for this year are paper crafts, embroidery, crochet, knitting, ningyogami (Japanese paper dolls), macrame and basic applique just to name a few.

This Sunday will be my first meet up and Crochet is on agenda. Looking forward to meeting some new people and learing something new.

Lost my Mojo......

So I seem to have lost my Blogging Mojo........ Maybe I have packed it in a box....

A dear friend has just returned from a trip to New Zealand and she hasn't stopped raving about the scenery, not to mention the fabulous food and wine. So good she didn't want to come home....

I guess though with scenery like this.....



And this....



I wouldn't want to come home either...... I am glad she did though!

Step Seven - Hand Tied Wedding Posy.....

I soldiered on through last nights class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry and am so glad I did.

I really enjoyed working with the beautiful roses that we were given to play with, the studio area smelt absolutely divine!

A bit under the weather......

Just a quick post to let you know that I may be a little bit quiet over the next few days as I am not feeling the best, in bed with plenty of fluids is where I will be.......

I have my Floristry Class tonight which I will have to suck it up for, I will try and share photos with you tomorrow.
