Last night was my last class I needed to make up for my Commercial Floristy Course at Perrotts School of Floristry.

It was a free choice night so I went with a big bouquet including peonies, spray roses, lisianthus, lillies, magnolia foliage and christmas bush. Very happy with how it turned out.

As mentioned here yesterday I was attending a lesson I missed earlier in the year of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrott's School of Floristry last night. I was a little concerned that all I had learnt wouldn't come back to me but I was suprised when I just slotted straight back into it! Here is my Fruit and Flower arrangement....

flower love.....

Well tonight I am headed back to school and I am excited! I have three lessons of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry to make up, the first of which is tonight.

It has been a little whiles since I shared some flower love so here you go....

All the above floral creations were created by Blumin in Trentham, Victoria. I came across their work on Twitter! I love the types of flowers and combinations that they use in their creations and I love the fresh herb and flower creations too!

commercial floristry course...completed!

Last night saw the final instalment of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. Last night was a night to reflect on the previous 17 weeks with the choice being left to us as to what we wanted to do. I decided to revisit the Hand Tied Posy in classic cottage flowers like sweet pea, stocks, jonquils and mini roses. They smell totally divine.

If my dream becomes a reality (one day....) this style of floristry and lots of shabby chic loveliness is what you will find in abundance in my own little florist shop!

Step Sixteen - Corporate Long and Low

You will have noticed that the last couple Thursday's have gone by without my usual photos of my creation from my Flower Class. Well I am back, two more weeks to go and I will now have a couple of lessons later in the year to make up for the missed ones.... Not sure what I will do on Wednesday nights now....

Last night saw a lesson in Corporate Long and Low Arrangements with some beautiful Natives. After a couple of weeks off my flower arranging mojo took a while to return, this is my third attempt after a run in with a rather large banksia that just wasn't working for me! Here are the pics...






They smell amazing and look great sitting on my buffet!

So cold here today, I have just put a hoodie on over two other layers, hope my Sunny Brisbane comes back soon!

Step Thirteen - Wreath

Thirteen classes down five to go, I can't believe it is nearly over. My Wednesday nights will never be the same and more importantly, what will one blog about now on a Thursday? Might just have to join in the Creative Space fun over at Kootoyoo....

So last night was the lesson with Wreaths. A nice change on a traditional bouquet or arrangement of flowers. I like working with the oasis, much more forgiving than straussing a bouquet!

Step Twelve - Presentation Bouquet

Last night saw class twelve of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry and it is safe to say that this was my least favourite class so far...... I struggled big time with this bouquet. Don't know why, just couldn't seem to get it, anyway here it is.....





Definetely not fabulous, think I will be dismantling and rearranging this one today!

A bit of practice!

So you would have seen my post from last week showing you my creation from my Flower Class (if not you can see it here).

Well Nate and I took at trip to Tesselaar's, the flower wholesaler in Coorparoo. Oh my goodness, I was in flower heaven! I have never, ever seen so much variety, so many amazing flowers and beautiful foliage, all in one place!

Anyway, back to the story, I decided that I was going to make a couple more of the cubed arrangements, they were just so cute and I really enjoyed making them. So I left the wholesaler with a truckload of flowers and over the next couple of days this is what I came up with...




The green chrysanthemums are just divine! I love them!

Looking forward to class tonight. A presentation bouquet is the task. Check back tomorrow for the pics!

Step Eleven - Cubed Vase Arrangement

So last night was the eleventh class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry . This was definetely my favourite of all the classes so far. The flowers didn't look much in the buckets until we started working with them.

Nice huh? I am heading out to buy some of those cute cubed vases and more flowers to make more! I loved doing this arrangement!

Step Ten - Boxed Arrangement

Last night saw my tenth flower class at Perrotts School of Floristry!

A Boxed Arrangement was the task and yellow was the colour palette with lots of gorgeous lillies, snapdragons, spray roses and nerines.

Step Eight - Buttonholes.....

So last night's class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrott's School of Floristry was a lesson in Buttonholes. Funnily enough I found the monotonous task of wiring every single flower, leaf and berry quite therapeutic!

I now have a lot more respect for the buttonhole!

Step Seven - Hand Tied Wedding Posy.....

I soldiered on through last nights class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry and am so glad I did.

I really enjoyed working with the beautiful roses that we were given to play with, the studio area smelt absolutely divine!

A bit under the weather......

Just a quick post to let you know that I may be a little bit quiet over the next few days as I am not feeling the best, in bed with plenty of fluids is where I will be.......

I have my Floristry Class tonight which I will have to suck it up for, I will try and share photos with you tomorrow.

Week 6 - Hand Tied Posy

Sorry about the late post, it has been a busy, crazy day! A fair stint in the car driving, a new do and a very late dinner. Which leaves me here, just before jumping into bed, filling you in on last nights class - The Hand Tied Posy. Definetely not one of my finer moments....





I enjoyed working with these gorgeous flowers, but I have a lot of practising to do with my straussing.......

Step Five - Frontal Church Arrangement

So last night saw the fifth class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. Our task last night was a Frontal Church Arrangement, here is what I came home with.....

Step Four - Classic Long and Low Arrangement

So last night I attended the fourth class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. We were shown how to complete a Classic Long & Low Arrangement. Here is what I came home with....







I felt half like I knew what I was doing last night! I think that this was the easiest arrangement yet.

Off to take Nate to the Library to see what we can find.

Windy Wednesday.....

So today was to be the day that I officially launched my Etsy and Made It Stores and announced the Giveaway to celebrate. However Mother Nature has been unkind and we have had a day of swirling winds and the odd rain shower which has made taking photos of some new items and the Giveaway items very hard! Pieces of paper, wind and a 15 month old who has taken a liking to eating dirt out of my pot plants whilst outside doesn't make taking photos easy!

However, I have baked today and thought I would share the recipe!

Louise's Gourmet Pie aka Easy Pie!!

You will need....

125g butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups self raising flour
3/4 cup coconut
fruit - either drained tinned fruit or fresh - I used fresh apple and tinned peaches

What you need to do....

Melt butter then take off heat and cool while you mix dry ingredients
Add all other ingredients (not fruit) and just mix into a dough - if it looks really buttery just add a little more flour



Grease a pie dish and then press 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom and up the sides you can then put into fridge for 10 mins to firm up but i dont bother



Put the fruit in to cover the base and then just crumble the rest of the mixture over the top - it doesnt need to cover the fruit entirely



Bake at 180 degrees for about 30 mins or until golden brown

Voila!!



A little bit to golden in some spots but it tastes really good!!!
