this week I am grateful for....

Little Hands - Master N had his second day at Daycare this week and very proudly presented me with this gorgeous poem for Mother's Day - yes it bought tears to my eyes. All he kept saying was 'hands stuck' he is not so good with sticky stuff on his little hands!

Unexpected Mail - especially when it is chocolate! Thanks Sister xo

Cups of Tea - and having five minutes to enjoy a hot one.

SNAIL MAIL!

I love to receive little bits and bobs in the post that don't come from Mr St George Bank, Mr Origin Energy, Mr Brisbane City Council, I could go on and on with the people that send me 'yukky' mail!

This week I received a lovely little note from a gorgeous bloggy friend. Put a huge smile on my face, thank you xox

I have also decided to join a couple of swaps on Swap-Bot, sent off a package earlier this week and can't wait to see what i get back!

I am discovering lots of great ways to connect with people and can't wait to continue doing my bit to bring back the snail mail tradtion!

Panadol and Chocolate.....

To say that this week has been one of those weeks would be an understatement and I don't know that I would have made it through said week without a good dose of chocolate and panadol - daily!

I am not going to go into the sad story because after all tomorrow is the beginning of a new week and to tell you the truth the happenings of the past week are something that I don't want to relive! I should just say that none of the happenings were disastrous or life threatening and were just what I assume are normal happenings when your life includes a two year old, a three month old and a husband that is very busy at work at the moment!

So here's to tomorrow being the start of what I hope will be a more normal week in our little household!

My fab new credit card that allows me to pay for my fuel without even going inside the shop at any Woolworths Service Station.

Just another thing that makes life as a Mummy a whole lot easier!

Oh and did I mention that it gave me a bonus 14c a litre off my fuel!

A good packet mix cake! *Hangs head in shame*!

Ok so I am not a baker, I have the odd thing that I have mastered and can confidently whip up if needed but I have never mastered cooking cakes from scratch. I dream of getting cupcakes that are nice and even and not all sagging to one side or looking like a small mountain.

So Thursday was Husband's birthday and I thought I should probably make a concerted effort to bake something to go with his dinner of choice. Whilst I was scrambling around my pantry to see what items I could whip together so to speak, I stumbled across a packet mix that I obviously had bought intending to put on my Suzie Homemaker Hat at some stage.

I whipped it up and voila cupcakes that were even on top not a single sign of a mountain peak anywhere!

My Official Taste Tester didn't have a bad word to say about them either! He may just be biased though!

A change of pace....

It's amazing how time away from your everyday life can recharge the batteries! I have spent the last week at my Mum and Dad's place with the boys - for those of you who aren't aware, my Mum and Dad live smack bang in the middle of a huge apple orchard. I love it here. Husband arrived down here on Thursday night and we are heading home tomorrow.

It has been so nice knowing that I didn't have any routine things to do like swimming lessons, grocery shopping, housework etc.

It has been nice to sit and play with the little ones ALL day without feeling bad because there was some kind of house chore that I should have been doing.

It has been nice to have two extra sets of hands to help with the bathing, feeding, bedtime routine.

It has been nice for a simple change of pace!

this week i am grateful for.....

This week I am grateful for managing to get myself organised!

We are celebrating Master N's (belated) 2nd Birthday tomorrow as there was no way I was going to attempt a new baby, Christmas and the 2nd Birthday within two and a half weeks of one another in December!

I made a list and got everything ticked off it! All that is left to do is to make the Rocket Cake and the Fairy Bread!

I will be sure to share pictures of the Buzz Lightyear Extravaganza sometime soon.

Being Australian :: After the extreme weather events of the last few weeks and especially the horrendous floods this week in my home town of Brisbane, I must say how proud I am to be Australian. The way our Country bands together in a crisis amazes me and I must say that I am proud to be an Aussie. More details on how to donate to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal can be found here.

Fabulous Bloggy Friends :: I know that I have already mentioned the fabulous friends that I have met since joining the world of blogging but I am ever so grateful for all of you who stop by and leave lovely comments!

Little Boys :: Where would we be without little boys! I would be totally lost without my two little ones!

this saturday I am grateful for......grandparents

Or to be more precise Nate's Grandparents i.e. my Mum and Dad and Husband's Mum and Dad.

I never thought that seeing the joy our little boy brings to their faces would be so satisfying.

Not to mention one of said Grandparents telling me this week in a very random but lovely moment that I have 'no idea how much joy I have bought to their lives by bringing that little boy into the world'

this saturday I am grateful for....... bedtime

Master N has had the devil in him since he opened his little eyes this morning. I couldn't wait for 7pm to roll around tonight!

I am off to make a cuppa and then put myself to bed. I must say that I would rather be laying in one of the those tents in what looks like a very balmy evening in the photo above, except I am in Stanthorpe with Mum and Dad freezing to death!

this saturday I am grateful for.....a little one's imagination

As I sit here writing this my little one is wandering around with a basket putting random items in it and having a good chat to himself. I sometimes would love to get inside his little head to find out what he was thinking.

I am now looking at the huge basket overflowing with toys that I and others have bought for him and thinking that a couple of cardboard boxes, a bucket and some empty toilet rolls would satisfy him just as much!

See what everyone else is grateful for over here.

this saturday I am grateful for.....ticking things off my list

I am and always have been an avid list maker. My biggest problem lately is that I seem to be continually adding to the list and not ticking anything off. I did the same thing when Master N was a newborn, made the list of things to get done and then was totally depressed by the end of the day when nothing got ticked off. I figured out that if I set myself one thing from the list to get done before husband arrived home, whether it be as simple as get out of my pyjama's or make the bed I was a happy new mum! Lately I have been taking this same stance with my lists and I am becoming a much happier Mum and Mum-to-Be!!

P.S. To see what I ticked off my list for today, see here.

this saturday I am grateful for......my sister

After another full on week with a number of minor breakdowns from the pregnant craftee mumma, I was totally delighted that my wonderful sister took Nate off my hands for a few hours yesterday so that I could get my house in order and have a bit of recharge time.

See what all the other lovelies are grateful for over here.

this saturday I am grateful for.......weekends

I just love Weekends.....

Even more so now than when I was working full time before I had our little Nate.

I love waking up knowing that I don't have anything that I have to do.

I love waking up knowing that husband is home for two days!

I love waking up not knowing what we are going to do to fill our days.

I love waking up knowing that Husband gets to see all the little things that Nate does during the day that he normally misses out on.

I love waking up knowing that I can go back to bed in the afternoon for a nanna nap!

I love waking up knowing that I can just potter around!

I am eternally grateful for Weekends, all 48 hours of them!

Check out what everyone else is grateful for over here.
