Friday Etsy Finds.......
So I have noticed on my numerous visits on Etsy that there are a number of cute little wooden brooches getting around, here are a few that I love......
First and foremost my finds today feature three Australian Artists!
I was excited to find that this little butterfly is by a fellow Brisbane-ite! MrsSmiley - love the vintage sheet music!
A cute little Owl by delilahdevine - from Adelaide. This cute little Hoot is topped off with a vintage piece of wallpaper which, I am guessing, makes each one different!
This sweet little Bird by sophiehillartist - from Tasmania is made from Tasmanian Myrtle.
And finally this little deer by decoylab is too cute not to mention. This little Etsy Store also sells gorgeous clocks, Nate was given the owl clock for his birthday from Uncle Ev and Aunty Jackie!
So many talented people!!!
Have a great weekend and Happy Friday!!!

Busy Monday......
So I thought that I would check in briefly between packing boxes, tally is up to 12 packed boxes to be exact, I am definetely a woman on a mission!!!
I have today received an Etsy order from the lovely Amanda all the way over in the United States who is getting married in August.
Her order, 600 of my Vintage Song Bird Punchies
Yep, 600 of the little guys, which she is planning on using as table scatters at her Vintage Music themed wedding! Sounds like it is going to be the perfect day and she is very excited!!!
Of course this means that Amanda has two entries into my Giveaway, which suprisingly the only entries I have are from purchases made in my stores (not that I am complaining!!). Check the previous post for details.

Step Four - Classic Long and Low Arrangement
So last night I attended the fourth class of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. We were shown how to complete a Classic Long & Low Arrangement. Here is what I came home with....
I felt half like I knew what I was doing last night! I think that this was the easiest arrangement yet.
Still waiting for the wind to go away........
Off to take Nate to the Library to see what we can find.
Happy Thursday!!

Windy Wednesday.....
So today was to be the day that I officially launched my Etsy and Made It Stores and announced the Giveaway to celebrate. However Mother Nature has been unkind and we have had a day of swirling winds and the odd rain shower which has made taking photos of some new items and the Giveaway items very hard! Pieces of paper, wind and a 15 month old who has taken a liking to eating dirt out of my pot plants whilst outside doesn't make taking photos easy!
However, I have baked today and thought I would share the recipe!
Louise's Gourmet Pie aka Easy Pie!!
You will need....
125g butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups self raising flour
3/4 cup coconut
fruit - either drained tinned fruit or fresh - I used fresh apple and tinned peaches
What you need to do....
Melt butter then take off heat and cool while you mix dry ingredients
Add all other ingredients (not fruit) and just mix into a dough - if it looks really buttery just add a little more flour
Grease a pie dish and then press 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom and up the sides you can then put into fridge for 10 mins to firm up but i dont bother
Put the fruit in to cover the base and then just crumble the rest of the mixture over the top - it doesnt need to cover the fruit entirely
Bake at 180 degrees for about 30 mins or until golden brown
Voila!!
A little bit to golden in some spots but it tastes really good!!!
Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with the Giveaway details.
Oh and I will have the photos from tonight's flower class tomorrow too!!

A morning with my two favourtie Boys!
We have just arrived home from a lovely morning spent in New Farm just wandering around checking out the Farmers Market and the shops in general. Took the opportunity to take a few photos too....
We also took the opportunity to check out some of the little spots where Mitch and I had our wedding photos taken around the Brisbane Powerhouse and get some photos of Nate, which I haven't done for a while! I have been getting hassled from numerous people about how slack I have been about updating his blog!
The two gorgeous boys in my life....
What more could a girl want really!
Happy Weekend.....

Step 3 - Classic Posy Bowl Arrangement
Last night was the third class in my 18 week Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. I attempted a Classic Posy Bowl Arrangement, which was much easier than the Classic Bouquet from last week. Easier because you had a base to work with and were not having to hold onto the flowers whilst adding and taking away from them.
So this is what I ended up with...
Personally, all I thought about the whole time I was doing this arrangement was that they look like funeral flowers, bit depressing I know.
I also came to the realisation last night that the reason Husband doesn't buy me flowers anymore is because I am so fussy about them! I guess I can just start buying and arranging my own once I am finished this course!
Happy Thursday!!
