weekend away......

Things will be quiet around here for a couple of days......

We are leaving on a jet plane early in the morning to the warmer climate in North Queensland.

Will be back on Monday hopefully with some photos to share.

national stationery show.....

So I have been swooning over the images on various stationery company's blogs from the National Stationery Show which was held earlier this month in where else but New York!

Whilst checking out the Paper Crave blog last night one came across photos of the Wiley Valentine booth.


Now I am sure that the National Stationery Show is actually all about the Stationery but...... how cute is the bird cage wall hanging that Wylie Valentine have popped all their cute little bits and pieces on. I NEED one of these little treasures....NOW!

Opinions please....

So a couple of weeks ago I received a frantic phone call from my sister telling me that I needed to log onto Etsy and purchase her a zippered clutch that she found in a little store called seaoats right now!!! So I logged on found the store and purchased the clutch. To tell you the truth I didn't think about it again until it arrived in the post yesterday.

So I see sister today and give her the parcel. She opened it up to find a gorgeous little parcel wrapped in brown tissue with a black ribbon and gorgeous card with a chipboard key attached, almost too cute to open! She opened it up and inside was the most gorgeous little zippered clutch. So well made, the attention to detail was amazing.

So now I have decided that I have to have one - or maybe two! Only problem is, I can't decide which one I want.....

Monday Etsy Finds.....

So I have been a little stumped lately with finding new and fabulous things on Etsy, or maybe it is just that I have not had time to sit down and really look....

However, this morning I open up Etsy and find two totally gorgeous items on the front page, so I guess technically they are not my finds but thanks to simpleroots, my favourites list has now grown.

Shop Update

Oh how I love Sundays!

What a lovely day we have had today, just what the doctor ordered! Lunch with some fab company and a lazy afternoon on the couch!

I have updated the Made It and Etsy Stores tonight...

Some cute new buttons, although a couple of the mixes sold almost as quickly as I listed them!!! I will hopefully pick and mix some more and have them in the Etsy Store in the next couple of days.



Not to mention the new crochet embellishments in some gorgeous new colours....







And these gorgeous new crochet goodies in two new colours....





Off to pack some orders, then off to bed!

Step Thirteen - Wreath

Thirteen classes down five to go, I can't believe it is nearly over. My Wednesday nights will never be the same and more importantly, what will one blog about now on a Thursday? Might just have to join in the Creative Space fun over at Kootoyoo....

So last night was the lesson with Wreaths. A nice change on a traditional bouquet or arrangement of flowers. I like working with the oasis, much more forgiving than straussing a bouquet!

NEW Paper Loveliness.....

Don't you just love it when something you have been thinking about for ages comes to fruition and is better than you imagined??

I have been thinking about these little Paper Lovelies for a while now but just have not had the time to sit and make them work, but today was the day!! I am so excited not only could I not wait to share them with you here but I have also listed them in my Etsy and Made It Stores ahead of all the other items I have to list!

Manic Monday.....

So today has whizzed by in a big blur!

Have been busy making some new items for the Etsy and Made It Stores. Will let you know when the stores are updated with these little goodies.....

Have been busy posting off orders to some customers....

Have been busy rearranging my pantry, it was getting to the point where you opened the doors, threw whatever needed to go in and shut the doors quickly! Much more organised now and had a great little helper in Nate!

Was excited to receive some new supplies in the mail today!

Was super excited to receive an enquiry that could lead to me being very busy!

Was super, super excited to be lucky enough to see that Someone Special again today too!

Step Twelve - Presentation Bouquet

Last night saw class twelve of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry and it is safe to say that this was my least favourite class so far...... I struggled big time with this bouquet. Don't know why, just couldn't seem to get it, anyway here it is.....





Definetely not fabulous, think I will be dismantling and rearranging this one today!

A bit of practice!

So you would have seen my post from last week showing you my creation from my Flower Class (if not you can see it here).

Well Nate and I took at trip to Tesselaar's, the flower wholesaler in Coorparoo. Oh my goodness, I was in flower heaven! I have never, ever seen so much variety, so many amazing flowers and beautiful foliage, all in one place!

Anyway, back to the story, I decided that I was going to make a couple more of the cubed arrangements, they were just so cute and I really enjoyed making them. So I left the wholesaler with a truckload of flowers and over the next couple of days this is what I came up with...




The green chrysanthemums are just divine! I love them!

Looking forward to class tonight. A presentation bouquet is the task. Check back tomorrow for the pics!
