how time flies......

I can't believe how quickly time has passed........

Nate was 18 months old yesterday, feels like only last week I was bringing him home from hospital....

Here he is the morning after he arrived into the big wide world sigh...

And here he is today sitting on the couch watching Yo Gabba Gabba, although as you can see he took time out to strike a pose for me....

A gorgeous 18 month old and 16 weeks pregnant, could life be anymore wonderful!

Happy Wednesday!

i am wondering.....

If sometime soon I am going to be waking to see this....

Ok, that may be a little bit dramatic but I can't believe how cold it is! Even though I am incubating I still have three layers on!

Things have been busy I am thinking up and making samples of Halloween, Christmas and Valentines Day stock. Need to get this organised and under control well before Baby Number 2 arrives!

Did all Nate's Christmas/Birthday shopping this morning with K-Mart. I decided to take advantage of their create your Christmas Lay By List online, drop it at the Lay By Department before 14 July 2010, pay your deposit and then pick it up from 1 December 2010! Easy! No battling with trolley's and other shoppers on Thursday morning!

Things are being ticked off the list left, right and centre! Feels so good!

Happy Tuesday!

the joys of being mum......

I have had a sick husband and a sick little boy this week. I have lost count of the number of tissue boxes I have been through, not to mention how much sanitising liquid I have rubbed onto my hands. Until going to Woolworths this morning I didn't realise how many products Pine-O-Cleen made, I bought them all. I am now busying myself de-germing the house not to mention washing anything in sight. One could be doing better things on a Sunday. I can tell you that I haven't seen this happy little boy for a while...

I am however heading out for a belated birthday celebration tonight with the fabulouse Julia! We are off to my, hmmmm it is a tough call, but would have to say second favourite restaurant in Brisbane - Anise. Can't wait!!

Hope your Sunday is a bit brighter than what mine has been so far!!

how things have changed....

Whilst scouring the world wide web for all things Birthday Party related for little boys, I couldn't help but notice all the very pretty cupcake cases that are available now! Unlike the boring white ones I remember gracing birthday party tables when I was little.

Here are just a few of the gorgeous ones I found.....

Images from CupcakeSocial

As you can see the pretty cupcake cases distracted me from the little boy related party things!
Need to focus and keep my mind on the job at hand!!

Have a good weekend!

commercial floristry course...completed!

Last night saw the final instalment of my Commercial Floristry Course at Perrotts School of Floristry. Last night was a night to reflect on the previous 17 weeks with the choice being left to us as to what we wanted to do. I decided to revisit the Hand Tied Posy in classic cottage flowers like sweet pea, stocks, jonquils and mini roses. They smell totally divine.

Here are the pics....

If my dream becomes a reality (one day....) this style of floristry and lots of shabby chic loveliness is what you will find in abundance in my own little florist shop!

buying pretty girly things.......

No not for my little bundle, the sex of which will remain a mystery until he or she graces us with his or her arrival. Although if you were to ask my Husband he is betting on a girl after my 9 weeks of being sick and laying on the lounge 24/7!! I am not convinced.....

I am lucky enough to be be Godmother to my cousins two gorgeous little girls, Madisen and Jorja and a very dear friend also has a beautiful little girl, Holly. Of course I spoil these little girls and love to buy pretty little things for them.

As December is going to be a busy month in our household I have begun the task of Christmas/End of Year Birthday shopping. Here are a couple of items that I picked up for the girls on Made It yesterday.....

From Nesian Kids these gorgeous little knotty necklaces...

You think the bag is impressive, wait til you see what is inside!

2nd birthday celebration dilemma.....

So I know that I should be full of ideas considering it is only Nate's 2nd Birthday but I am totally stumped about what to do for him this year. Although his birthday is not until the end of December, I figure that December is going to be quite a busy month with Baby Ryder #2 due and Christmas so I am trying to get things organised now.......

So the 1st Birthday was themed with Hoots! I ordered some amazing handmade decorations from the Etsy Store Ciao Bambino where I became good Etsy Buddies with the fabulous Jeniene! Here are a couple of photos from the Extravaganza...

Gorgeous Table Centrepieces

Cute Banners

Round sticker labels for the favour boxes I made

I am also guessing that this year would be a bad year to not make a big deal out of this birthday with a new addition on the scene.

So a theme is what I am debating over. So far I have thought of Dinosaurs, In the Night Garden (the weird show that he loves on the ABC) or Chuggington (another ABC favourite with trains). I have also thought pirates but have decided to save that for a couple of years.

So I guess I am putting the call out there to all you Mummy's of little boys. What themes have you used for your little ones?

oh happy day......

Two years ago today, we had the pleasure of celebrating the marriage of Uber Claire to the just as Uber Chris at the lovely Peppers Hidden Vale.

Happy Anniversary Guys!

13 June 2010

a nice day out......

We have my Mum and Dad staying with us at the moment. We headed to Portside this morning to check out the Boutique Markets as they were having a Kids and Pets Big Day Out!

Nate had a great time in the Petting Zoo, not to mention pointing and announcing every DOG! DOG! DOG! that he saw, God Bless Him!

As always there were some fabulous finds at the Market. I am in love with the new large art frames from Mondo Cherry. There was one featuring these gorgeous hearts on display today.....

10 June 2010

nate's 1st year....

So I guess I am posting this looking for someone to tell me that I am not the only one....

Almost two years ago to the day I was shopping with Uber Claire whilst visiting Brisbane (we were living in Darwin at the time) and she bought me this book in anticipation of Baby Ryder's (as Nate was affectionately known for 9 months) arrival....

As you can see the book is in perfect condition. I can hear you all saying what a great job she has done keeping the book looking so nice, but here is the thing, I haven't done a thing with it. Not one entry, not one photo - NOTHING......

I figure seeing as though Baby Ryder #2 is on the way I should pull my finger out and get it done. I have everything I need to complete it - dates of first steps, words etc, photos, hospital id bracelets, the newspaper from the day he was born, a copy of his birth announcement, hair from his first haircut - EVERYTHING I need to complete this book is here safely tucked away in this box.

This is not the only project that I have to get finished, there is the album I am putting together with all the cards we received when the little fella was born, the time capsule I want to put together, the 1st Birthday Album......sigh!

All I am in need of is some time!

Please tell me that I am not the only one who took almost 18 months to complete these important piece of my Baby Boy's history........ANYONE???

Step Sixteen - Corporate Long and Low

You will have noticed that the last couple Thursday's have gone by without my usual photos of my creation from my Flower Class. Well I am back, two more weeks to go and I will now have a couple of lessons later in the year to make up for the missed ones.... Not sure what I will do on Wednesday nights now....

Last night saw a lesson in Corporate Long and Low Arrangements with some beautiful Natives. After a couple of weeks off my flower arranging mojo took a while to return, this is my third attempt after a run in with a rather large banksia that just wasn't working for me! Here are the pics...

They smell amazing and look great sitting on my buffet!

So cold here today, I have just put a hoodie on over two other layers, hope my Sunny Brisbane comes back soon!

Happy Thursday!
